Pre Course Work

Set up your profile, explore Figma, join the community, and begin prep activities.

WEEK 1

Begin with orientation and design thinking, explore the Double Diamond process, and prepare your research plan, guides, interviews, and surveys.

WEEK 2

Conduct stakeholder interviews, analyze competitors, map the business with a canvas, and practice user interviews.

WEEK 3

Design AI experiences, understand AI vs ML, synthesize data through affinity mapping, and build personas and empathy maps.

WEEK 4

Explore interaction design, break down tasks, map user experiences, and apply it all in a hands-on student workshop.

WEEK 5

Craft user stories and job stories, define problems, ideate solutions, and visualize them through storyboarding and user flows.

WEEK 6

Start wireframing from paper to Figma, explore visual design theory, and build with typography, variables, and components.

WEEK 7

Learn responsive design, atomic design systems, and prototyping—then streamline developer handoff using AI plugins and design guidelines.

WEEK 8

Prepare for testing with task scenarios focused on accessibility, usability, and inclusion—then run live sessions and prioritize feedback.

WEEK 9

Present to stakeholders, gather feedback, reflect on your journey, and focus on portfolio building, case studies, and career prep.

What You'll Learn

A comprehensive course covering user research tactics, design thinking, stakeholder management, user experience (UX) and user interface design (UI) – all of which come together to play an important role in making successful design decisions.

Becoming a User Experience designer.
You will learn all the fundamental methods and tools in this UI and UX design course to become a user experience designer including how to conduct effective user research, building empathy and experience maps, understanding how to write good user stories, and more.
A series of online tools (such as Figma and Figjam) will be used to apply the learnings and capture key insights.
Classes are live, and held twice a week online via Zoom (from 6:30pm-8:30pm London time) either on Monday and Wednesday evenings, or Tuesday and Thursday evenings, depending on your chosen start date.
